Partnerships for Sustainable Community Development (/pscd/) (PSCD) is a long-term collaborative alliance of local and international organizations dedicated to improving local livelihoods.
The Tanzania Partnership Program (http://www.isp.msu.edu/pscd/programs/tanzania/) (TPP) is the first initiative of PSCD. Tanzania was selected as the initial location for PSCD based on need, potential for success, MSU's experience in the region, and an array of interested partners.
The Global Center for Food Systems Innovation (http://gcfsi.isp.msu.edu) (GCFSI) is one of seven new development labs funded by USAID in their Higher Education Solutions Network (http://gcfsi.isp.msu.edu) (HESN). Through HESN, USAID hopes to harness the intellectual capacity of American and international research and educational institutions to help solve the most pressing global development problems. MSU's lab focuses on generating solutions and transforming global food systems in response to population growth, climate change and urbanization.
