Canadian Studies Center Latest Events 2017-03-23T02:09:04-04:00 Zend_Feed_Writer Canadian Studies Center at Michigan State University <![CDATA[Resiliency and Adaptability in the Face of Climate Disruption in the Arctic]]> Dr. Harvey Lemelin, Associate Professor in the School of Outdoor Recreation, Parks and Tourism at Lakehead University, Ontario, Canada, is the principal investigator for "Climate Change and Community Well-Being in Northern Ontario."  Dr. Lemelin is also a coinvestigator examining polar bear migration and changing habitat in Northern Ontario.  His published topics include human-animal dynamics and tourism, as well as conservation and tourism in national parks conservation areas, marine protected areas, and national historic sites.          Dr. Lemelin works extensively with indigenous communities in Northern Canada to adapt to a changing environment due to weather and economics.

The play chronicles the harrowing Rohingya refugee experiences told from the perspective of the Rohingya Canadian youth community. This is a powerful and emotional drama about life, loss, violence, and hope that chronicles the lives of 'the most oppressed people on Earth.'
